    Question UK Xoom 3G and ADB - Device is not showing up in the list - I am a novice!

    I want to root my Xoom (unlock bootloader in the process) and found some interesting guide to do it using ADB. I have set up Android SDK and ADB and checked that they are working using the beginner's guide available on android forum. My problem is that once I connect my Xoom via USB, PC recognises it but ADB does not list my device with "adb devices" I have restarted ADB "adb kill-server; adb start-server" without any luck. So practically I am ground even before attempting a flight Any help or direction will be much appreciated

    Yes - I did that first thing but no joy! The device shows up on my laptop as MZ601 (Media Player Device)!

    Try installing or reinstalling the Motorola USB Drivers found here:
    USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

    Did you end up finding a solution to this? I have a Canadian Xoom that is now the equivalent to a US Xoom running 3.1 after unlocking and flashing the US image, but I'm now battling this problem as well and unable to root :-(

    EDIT: nevermind, I figured out my problem. I was trying to use ADB from the fastboot screen rather than with the OS loaded...
