    Apps not allowed in my country

    It's my second day with xoom, i got this message on couple of apps i tried to install that they are not allowed in my country. Looked around on forums and found some work arounds which require to root the device. Need your opinion should i or shouldnt? Is there any risk to my device? and what's the safest way to install those apps

    i am not sure what country you are in. i am in Kenya bought my xoom in the uk. i rooted and changed my build.prop file per instructons on this forum and xda. i am very glad i did. got the 3.1 update have no problem installing apps.

    Hi there..I had that problem also a couple of weeks ago with my xoom. Either I got hte "cannot be installed in your country" message or the "item cannot be found" message. But recently there are plenty apps which I tried before already available and can be installed to my xoom.

    Please be noted that my xoom is still in stock rom honeycomb 3.0.1 and not rooted.

    What I do is that I just mail the android market google support and inform them that u have the problem and they will reply and support u. Don't worry about the response..sp far, their response in fast.

    Also, u can also send out email to the app developer of the app that u want to install first and ask them whether their app have a geological restriction or not.after that just write down to android market support and tell them that u can't download the app and tell them what your app developer response.

    So just be patient and inform google that u have the problem. I think they trying to, solve the problem for white somtimes now as there are still plenty more user which faced the same problem.

    i bought mine from saudi, it,s wifi only thats why i was not expecting any app restrictions. i cant install whatsapp, skype and flash

    Hi there, I have the same previously.but after I contact google and tell them about it..within a week I can install app..now most of the app I want an be install to my xoom..so I suggest u send email to google support for market and they will assist u.

    i got response from cisco that android market will not work in the country
