UK wifi 3.1 - possible to root?

hey clever people,

I've just updated to 3.1 but am already missing root access - mainly for cifs to be able to mount my windows server file shares.
ive looked around but cant find anyway to root the uk xoo.

ive tried some normal 3.1 updates but they all involve install a system image of 3.1 which makes the market place think i want to pay in dollars, prevent me from using wifi channel 12, and dont have the new Files app which i quiet like.

anyone know a way to do it?

This seems to be the question no one seems to want to answer!

I have found root instructions for euro 3.1 3G version but not wifi only. Like you I can not find it anywhere on the net.

I am using US rom 3.2 at the moment but would like to switch back to Euro rom with 3.1 update but I need root.

I am also on 3.1 wifi UK zoom,only had it a few days,I will also want to root and I'm just waiting for a reliable tutorial for this model.I think there is one for 3.1 wifi but I dont know if it works on uk

Send a message to either, markyguitar, Zammo, draughtsman. I'm pretty sure they all rooted uk wifi xooms using either the tutorial on this forum or from the xda one.

There are a few routines to root the original firmware but not the new 3.1 version.

bugger! Im thinking I might go back to 3.0.1 and then root as I dont have seemed to have gained anything by moving up to 3.1 and would rather have root so I can run cifs to get my file shares back again..

Did you get rooted?and did you have to revert to 301?
