updated mine yesterday, no differences that I can see. Almost seems to have slowed it down abit, might just be me th inking it is slower. Still no sd support, wonder how many months it will be for the 3.2 update.
What are the differences/benefits of US3.2 versus CAD3.1?
I received CAD3.1 a few days ago and have been happy with it - good SD support, generally peppier and more stable than 3.0.1.
It was my impression that US3.2 was rolled out, in part, to fix inadequate SD support in US3.1, whereas CAD3.1 inherently seems to have great SD support. From reading around, neither the US3.2 or CAD3.1 have full USB OTG support yet (by full, I mean capable of connecting to the majority of cameras/HDD/etc.).
Is anyone here in Canada who has tried the US3.2 and reverted back to CAD3.1 able to comment on differences between the two? Someone (Paul Pike) on the Motorola Canada facebook page has commented that "...perception seems to show that the 3.1 is a little quicker than the version I was using in the states. I flashed back to the Canadian version and can now use Netflix with no issues. 3.2 for the US didn't really make it faster and was more cosmetic. Upgrades that increase speed are really the ones I am interested in."
I recognize that US3.2 also has more access to Google Movies/Music/Books due to US specific licensing issues. I not really interested in these...
even with the US 3.2 you could not access Google Books or Video here in Canada, it must know you are in Canada by your IP address, and does not allow access.
I also could not get Netflix to work on US 3.2, Bluetooth tethering didn't work either, and there were issues with links on certain webpages not working. I reverted to Canadian 3.1 today and all those items work again. AFAIC Canada 3.1 is better (in Canada) than US 3.2
also US 3.2 does not ask you where to sync media to (ie. internal storage or SD card) whereas Canadian 3.1 does give you the choice
one thing I appreciate is how flipping EASY it is to reflash new firmware on this device. I reverted from US 3.2 to Can 3.1 today and from start to finish (making backup of my apps using My Backup Pro), copying data files for apps, flashing the Canadian firmware, restoring all my apps, getting the 3.1 update, setting up all my accounts for various apps and email... the whole thing took less than 2 hrs.
So I will wait and see what happens with Ice Cream Sandwich and then likely test it out by flashing the US firmware (as I am sure ICS will come out sooner in the US), but if too many things don't work with it here in Canada, I will just revert back to the Canadian 3.1. I think rooting might be the solution too, as then you have a ton of options.
Yaaay keyboard lag is not as bad and overall seems a little more responsive.
