augen the book ereader doing a reset caused non-power on also need latest firmware :(

I have an augen ebook reader. doing a reset on the device since calibre would never detect it caused it not to power on again. can anyone tell me of a fix ? also I was wondering if someone could tell me where i could get the last and final firmware update for this device ? its Decmber 2011 and i'm bummed out it won't power back on. just used a pin. anyway, looking for a resolution and a final firmware update unless someone can tell me where to get unofficial firmwares.

which exact augen device do you have.is it the gentouch 78?

Unfortunately, the company that sold the Augen "The Book" and the Gentouch folded it's tent and faded away. There is no source I am aware of for the firmware. I managed to get one of the EBA701 "The Book" units before Christmas (Refurbished) and found out shortly after that they are defunct. I would also love to get a copy of the firmware "just in case". I have 3 of the wee beasties at the moment. They are very nice readers AND can be used for videos as well. NewEgg is selling them, refurbished (probably the only work done on them was installing the last firmware upgrade which fixed a raft of earlier problems), for $49. If you don't mind spending a few bucks on a dead-end reader that does a very good job I highly recommend it.

If anyone out there has a path to, or a copy of, the last firmware I'd love to hear about it. All of the Augen web links are dead.
