waking up shivering uncontrollably with a fever after having oral surgery this morning does NOT feel good. Thank you SwiftKey for making this post coherent.

just got back from the US embassy here in Cairo. let me tell you, visiting it is not like in the movies. you do not walk into something looking like a nice bank lobby with someone there to help you. all you do it go here, wait, go here, wait, go here, wait more, even if you have an appointment. worst part is they take your cell phone, so no games, no browsing the internet, no phone calls. waited for 2 hours for about 5 minutes of work, and cost me $50. i guess its good to know that the government offices work the same world wide, at least they are consistent.

I was gonna say, sounds just like a trip to any federal office building here in the U.S...

I went to the FBI building in Dallas with a retired agent friend of mine. We were going up stairs so they ask him if he had credentials, he said yes and he went in. My turn, Do you have credentials? No, even though I was with an agent I had to take my belt and shoes of and go through a scanner. Also had an inch long pen knife and finger nail clippers I had to leave down stairs until I returned. So it looks like all bureaucracies are the same.
