My Dad smoked Camel unfiltered for 45 years and just quite cold turkey and after about 25 years as a non smokers the Doctors told him he had the lungs of a teen ager.

yup ive heard of cases like that and they are very rare.no one knows what effect it will have on them long term.there are people who have smoked way less time than that.they have lung cancer emphysema,and other nasty things.so unless you can tell exactly what your specific genetics will do long term.i say better safe than sorry.

Extensive cigarette smoking is definitely unwise. Hasn't stopped me yet however.

Same applies to cholesterol. Genetics plays a part. Grandfather ate worse than me and lived to 80+. But then he farmed for probably 70 of those years... Probably had more to do with his good health.

someone is hard working on getting lung cancer.

That is a few years worth, I usually have about 1 or 2 a week.
Besides, I probably get more trash in mu lungs when i ride my bike with all the pollution and trash burning around here
