This is a discussion on [ROM] Unofficial CM9 (WiFi-Only & 4G LTE) (Updated 4/19/12) within the Team Rogue forums, part of the ICS Development category; Updated, please review changelog...
just flashed on my 3g xoom (not currently using 3g, verizon gets enough of my money as it is) and this rom looks great! just popping in to say thanks to everyone involved in releasing this rom.
I'm on last version of cm9. I'm gonna flash update plus updated gapps, I don't need to do full wipe? Just wipe cache and dalvik cache right?
I thought if we did gapps a full wipe was required every time.
a little scared of that idea (face unlock) scenario 1. someone has an 8x10 picture of you. scenario 2. you're horribly deformed in an accident and can never unlock your xoom again. guess i'll just stick with my password :P
So I"m ready to pull the trigger on this and am really excited to give it a shot. Some questions I want to just know about:
1. after this, I am rooted? If not, can I use existing processes to reroot?
2. any thoughts on the wireless tether? Can still do like we were rooted? Does the ad hoc patch still work?
3. the new google wireless testing codes do enable infrastructure tethering I believe, but it starts the VZW page. do the workarounds still work?
4. and last - is CWM still installed or do I need to find/download/install once again? If I do, what is the best one to use with this build?
This will not give you root, you need to do that first using Universal Root.
