    Touch Screen Wont Respond

    Team,

I have owned my Xoom almost 3 months. Last week i started to have a problem with the touch screen. I would wake up my Xoom to the Pattern Login In Screen, and it would not register my touch at all. The only w6 I could get this Xoom to work was to dona hard boot by holding Volume Up and Power button. After doing that, the Xoom worked fine. However, it keeps doiing this about once a day. Any thoughts?

What you did was a soft reset, you might want to do a factory data reset, menu>settings>privacy>factory data reset. All your paid apps will be redownloaded when you sign back into google.

Have you dropped your Xoom lately? When it is acting up apply a little pressure to the bottom of the back of the Xoom and see if it responds then. You sensor may be coming undone. It is taped in place instead of being mounted with screws.

thanks for the replies. i have been doing the soft reset and it has fixed the problem for a period of time. I ultimately have to reset the Xoom 2 x day. It is still underwarrenty, and I just got the notification for the 4g upgrade. i will try thenfactory data reset but i am wary of runningnlow on my warrenty.

If the factory data reset doesn't help contact Motorola about getting either fixed or replaced.

    ok team,

I am having to send this Xoom back to motorola to have it fixed. Factory reset was ineffective. I am nit convinced that it is a hardwatre issue because a reboot of the Xoom seems to fix the problem until the unti goes ti sleep on its own. After my last reboot however, My Xoom rmoved 6 widgets I had running on my home screen. They were the Verizon Wireless data use widget, Good Mobile Messaging Calendar Widget, Good Mobile Messaging Email widget, Weather Bug Widget, Advanced Task Killer Widget, and the clock widget from Xoom. could all of the widgets be the problem? Has anyone else had a priblem with running any of the forementioned widgets?

one last thing. i do not think it is the widgets. i have noticed it only freezes when I put it to sleep by pushing the power button on the back. Any thoughts?

I hope this helps anyone having a similar issue. Thank you.
