Ok, got home finally and at least there was a little headway made. Not the way I would have liked to see it, but at least if something can't be done before the box comes, you have a way to get a working Xoom as payment for your work.
I'll keep looking to see what I can find on that error. I think I remember someone else having the same message somewhere.

This helped me A LOT into recovering my Xoom after WAY too much doodling!
Updating to 3.2 from 3.0.1 for a non US user
It's long, boring and hard at the first time BUT works 100%!
I can't even recall what thing"s" I did before getting stuck with that "M"!
It all happened in it's first 12 hours!!!
Hope this helps : )
Edit: I forgot to mention I have a 3G Xoom.
I suppose this wouldn't make much difference ': s

From everything iv'e read it does make a difference, plus Ive already sent it back. Thanks for your suggestion though
So Ive received a brand new xoom from Motorola, Its updated to 3.2.1 and functions correctly. Should I attempt root and try roms or am I asking for trouble?

Its a WiFi, I'm just a lil scared to brick but I'm assuming whatever happened to it last time was not caused by rooting so hopefully I wont run into and issue. Thanks again for your help!!
