    I need serious touchscreen help.

I posted on 10.01.2011 about screen freezing. Ultimately, my problem was when I would go to use my Xoom after the screen had timed out or after I had put it to sleep by pressing the power button, the touch screen would be frozen. The best adivce was factory reset or ship to motorola. So I spoke with Motorola and I shipped to them. There technician looked at my Xoom for less than day and the unit was shipped back to me as repairs completed. However, I have been expiriencing the same problems again. I just spoke to Motorola tech support yet again. I asked about the previous repairs. The level 2 tech said that the technician working on my Xoom could not find any defects with the unit. The only thing he did was make the screen time out at 30 minutes (the longest time available). I did change that once I got it back. Motorola now wants me to ship it back to them.

Is anyone else out there in the universe expiriencing similar problems with their Xoom to where the screen is unresponsive to touch? I have not dropped my unit nor has it been exposed to any liquid. Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, comments, or shots in the dark as to what may be the problem? I need serious help. What would you do if Motorol just keeps asking for the unit back?

im experiencing the same problem. rebooting didn't solve it. I was watching a video and closed the case without shutting it down. now im home and my touch screen does not respond. I rebooted holding up the volume button, still no screen response. i can see updates and email notifications at the bottom of my screen so its working, just not the touch function.

Nothing happened to it since it was working. I didnt drop it or get it wet.

Welcome to the forum.Glad you decided to join us. Try a soft reboot, press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both.
