Good catch grant. I remember a few other people having problems with that a while back.
sgsalas258, if you haven't dropped the package off yet, call them back and have them send a new charger first. It will (or should be) free too as it's a known issue for some people.

Charging problem solved
Thanks to some information in this thread I have finally solved my charging problem. Even after buying a new charger my Xoom would only charge for a few seconds at a time. Leaving it charging overnight would only increase the charge by about 2%. Someone here mentioned removing the two screws and sliding the cover off to access the battery. When I did that I found a tiny little bare copper wire that seemed to be making contact with two copper terminals that appear to connect to the battery. I moved the bare wire to where it wasn't touching the terminals and my Xoom is now charging like it did when it was new.

Welcome to the forum.
Glad you decided to join us and glad you got your problem fixed. Personally I use the dock for charging as the charger tip tends to break off in the charging port.

I searched and searched and couldn't find any further info about this. If anyone has any details about this please jump in.
I have the same problem - my xoom charges very slowly, the white LED blinks on and off while charging (I think it should be solid, shouldn't it?), and
battery status (in settings, not the clock/battery icon) goes between charging/not charging constantly.
I'd really rather not send it in for this if I can fix it easily, but I'd like to confirm symptoms and where this short was ...

Glad you decided to join us. I'd make sure the charger is good before doing anything, the chargers are a known issue with the OG Xooms. Call Motorola and tell them about your problem and see if they'll repl;ace your charger.
