Black Screen of Death

Rooted Xoom. Relatively new and was working great. Got the black screen yesterday and nothing will get past it. Have tried (repeatdly) the Power On plus Vol Up (as well as Vol Dn and both Vol buttons). When I try to power up, I get absolutely nothing on the screen. The only sign of life is I can charge, and after awhile the light goes green. I'm (I think) at the point of either sending back to Moto or trying to pull the battery. I'm not opposed to pulling the battery but will that fix it? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum ..sorry to hear about this but if you rooted moto wont do anything for you.... how long do you hold the vol up and power button a few members said it took a few ..I hope someone here will add something to this..

Welcome to the forum.Glad you decided to join us. As Ray said sometimes you need to hold the power and volume up quite a while, also make sure it's fully charged. If you decide to pull the battery that will for sure void you warranty and I'm not sure it will work on the tablet like it does on a phone.

This solution to the black screen was posted back in October.

"Yesterday it also froze and would not power up with SoftReset. After scouring the web I found one post that sugested holding the power button and then repeatedly pressing the Volume Up button (Like a half SoftReset type of action). This worked after about 1 minute of trying."

man i sure do need help my droid 2 will not turn on its screen is all the way black but i can see the light in the screen working and it even does the droid sound when powered on ive tryed the volume power button and when i plug it into my computer nothing happends can anyone help me please! russ!

Charge it to full charge.
Keep pressing the power+volume up till it boot
