Flashing the SBF:
How to flash the SBF: here
That link will link it back to Xoomforum: "Thanks to Steady Hawkin over at the Xoom forums for this on"
Flashing the SBF:
- Run RSD Lite as Admin
- Power off your Xoom, press volume up and power at the same time until the device starts. It should boot with "Starting RSD protocol support 3"
- Connect your supplied USB cable (I say supplied because 3rd party cables can cause issues)
- Browse to the SBF file you extracted in the filename box (use the ... button to select)
- Click on Port 1 and select Show Device. If it looks similar to the below image (Device and File Properties are both populated) you are all set
- Click Run

Lord how painful has this been?
I have now tried 4 (four!) ROMS and each endlessly play the reboot animation. My only choices were reboot into CWM, or nothing..........
BUT, then I figured out if you hold down the '-' vol key while rebooting you go into fastboot mode - result!
So...... I pushed the original recovery/system/boot files from Motodev via adb, and got back to HC3.0 stock! I've since applied 3 OTA updates and I'm now back to 3.2, albeit with a different ROM to when I got the Xoom from Hong Kong.
So....... I will try again tonight to flash the recovery and get EOS ICS onto it. Now I know I can get it into fastboot protocol and use adb to push stock files back onto it, I'm less worried about things going wrong the second time.
I can only hope that as I'm now using a slightly different stock ROM/build it may go different.
Will let you know how I get on.
Thanks

Glad you're up running now.
Well wish and good luck to you![]()
Well, I am up and running in a 'better' HC3.2 than before - but still not in ICS land!
Will give it one last try tonight :-)
Thanks again

Too late - I don't know what nandroid is.....
Anyway I spent all day doing OTA updates as far as I could get onto the HC3.0 stock - about 120mb worth
Flashed the CWM recovery first time - great.
Wiped everything from within recovery - easy.
Installed EOS everest 1 - great.
(no reboot)
Installed the EOS Gapps - cool.
Rebooted and now I have the same problem....... a spinning camera shutter logo bottom right corner. Been doing that for about 30 minutes now.
Back to HC3.2 I guess - I'll have to go the long way round via the motodev stock then lots of OTA's overnight, but hey - I've got Episode IV A New Hope to keep me company.
I thought this would've fixed it - I was flashing from a newer/different stock HC rom...... CWM flashed first time.......
Why can't I get any custom ROMS to boot?
