    Can't Factory Reset on Encrypted Xoom

    Hi all! I have a U.S. wifi only Xoom, rooted, currently running a wingray 4.0.3 ROM (full_wingray-userdebug 4.0.3 IML74K eng.root.20111216.220306 test-keys) with the kernel (2.6.39.4-gf03a679 android-build@apa28 #1). I foolishly encrypted my tablet, and now I can't perform a factory reset (it first asks for my PIN, then resets and tries to initiate system restore, then goes to the little android guy with the exclamation point in the triangle). I've also tried pulling the boot.img and system.img from a 4.0.4 stock rooted build and then running (fastboot flash boot boot.img), etc. from ADB, but although my device shows up when I run (adb devices), when I start trying to flash the boot and system, I just get a "waiting for device". Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Have you tried wiping data in clockwork? It will erase all your data again but should also erase the encryption set on it.

    Yeah, that's one of the odd things...when I do the "factory reset" in CWM, everything looks like it goes fine, but then I still can't do the regular factory reset, and /sdcard won't mount in CWM in order to install a new ROM (I would like to install the stock 4.0.4 plus root).

    Flash rogue recovery, with it you can install from either the external SD or internal memory. No need for SD to mount.

    I appreciate your help with this. I do have Rogue recovery....I guess I misdescribed what was happening when I try to install the 4.0.4 ROM from the external SD card. I think what's happening is it won't overwrite the encrypted info on my tab. Specifically, the error I get is the following:
    assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.product.model") == "Xoom" || file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.producty.model") == "xoom" || file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.product.model") == "Full AOSP on Wingray"
    E:Error in /sdcard/update_US-Xoom-WiFi-4.0.4-IMM76_stachre_v01.zip
    (Status 7)
    Installation aborted.

    Don't know if this will work but the oem unlock command from fastboot should wipe your xoom, might have to reroot though.

    Yeah, I tried that, too, but just got stuck at <waiting for device>
