    Hoping for Help

Well, I've been lurking this forum among others trying to determine if I really have to send my Xoom MZ602 (originally a MZ600) in to Motorola for a $149 fix. Nevertheless, I've not yet been able to get into a manual recovery mode on my own. Every time I've tried to get to the recovery mode manually b pressing the volume down after a reboot (power + vol up) seems to take me into FastBoot. Well, after reading many threads and trying to learn the lingo as best I could I still haven't gotten anywhere but FastBoot. I have downloaded both Android SDK and RSD Lite 4.6 (running Win 7 64-bit). I am able to access and find devices using SDK tools command prompt with FastBoot but not ADB or even RSD Lite. I have downloaded the .img and .sbf files from the Motorola site but am only able to use the .img files. In learning the lingo, I've basically learned that my Xoom appears to be bricked (because it is a brick). I just want to know if I'll ever get to that screen with the little green Android guy asking if I really want to recover.

Below is what I have done so far only to end up in the same place. I have images for both my command prompts (basically posted below) and images of the Xoom's screen. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

    Re: Hoping for Help

When you hit volume down at reboot is your only choice fastboot? If you continue to cycle with volume down it does not change to recovery in upper left?

At the end there what happens when you fastboot reboot? Are you just stuck at M logo?

Yes, fastboot is the only option. No, It does not change to recovery in upper left after continuing to cycle with volume down. After fastboot reboot it takes me to the M logo with the following messages in top left:

    "Failed to boot 0X0001"
    Starting RSD mode 2
OneWire:Charger is not connected or battery is not being charged
    Battery charge level:81%

At that point I do the reboot with power button + volume up and wait on the Motorola logo and begin pressing the vol down. This action then gives me the following message in top left:
    "Failed to boot 0X0001"
    Starting Fastboot protocol support.

As a note, RSD Lite has not been able to find the device in either.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. When attempting to fastboot the images to your Xoom, was it fully charged?

I did that one, too. As a matter of fact, I was glad to hear he was running the same Windows version and so I went and found RSD Lite 4.6 as he used since my attempt with 4.9 did not work. Sadly, neither have worked. As I mentioned also in my original post, I have been unable to get RSD Lite to recognize that there's a device. FastBoot says there's a device but RSD Lite shows nothing

And, correct me if I'm wrong but with RSD Lite up and running shouldn't you just be able to plug your device in and it recognizes it? I downloaded the drivers from Motorola which did enable FastBoot to find it since before that download it was non-existent.

More concisely, for me to use that method I need to be able to get RSD Lite to recognize the device.

I got a FAIL result in RSD "Failed flashing process: Phone[0000]: Error switching phone to LTE Pass through mode [0x70DA]. However, I did a reboot and everything is working. Oh, Happy Day!!!!
