Had the same thing on my first one. It got progressively worse. Exchanged it but never found out the cause because no one else had the same issue.

Mine does it also, from time to time. Incidentally it does it really bad on my RK2818 aPad when it's charging.

You will have to check their normal return policy. If you are within the return window just take it back.

I knew it was too good to be true. I'm the guy that always gets a broken device.. I bought the Xoom and have had it for a month no problems. The last week, if I leave my xoom on, doing nothing, I will find it making a very loud high pitched humming sound AND if you pick it up, you can also hear and FEEL a clicking sound, like a hard drive thats stuck or something.

    It's happened 3 times now.

It may not make a difference but have you tried a hard reset (hold volume up and power)? Sometimes it works wonders

I'm pretty sure that staples changed their protection plan policies but when I used to buy the plan with any electronics and something went bad I just had to call the protection plan number and they'd send me a gift card for the amount I paid for the device. The crazy part...I got to keep the busted the one. This was years ago and like I said, they more than likely changed that policy.

As far as I know regarding their regular warranty policy, you have 15 days to return for refund and 30 days to exchange for a new one (same model). But as Garemlin said, just double check with them and I'm sure that they'll help you out.
