You're trying to transfer the file from PC to xoom?
Yes, from PC (windows XP) to xoom.
What size is the file?
OK and windows sees the xoom as a portable media player or something like that right? Try rebooting the xoom while its connected via USB and then try the transfer again.
Tried that. Did not work.
I noticed that Windows sees it as a device but there is no drive letter next to the device.
Also is there a special way of transfering a file. I've just tried to do it thru Explorer.
Is there a diffrent way of transfering ?
Iwhen the xoom is connected just drag and drop from your files to whatever folder you want it in. Download a file manager like astro first. Are you using the USB cable that came with the xoom. Also ensure you have the motohelper 4.9.0 driver. I'll link right now...

This is a confirmed issue with windows xp. Someone else figured out it was a problem with windows media player of all things. Illsee if I can find the thread with the fix

I believe installing windows media player 11 or upgrading will help fix this
