Xoom stuck on starting RSD mode 2?

Flashed Build HWI69 for US Retail on a Canadian wifi MZ604 xoom..tired of
waiting for 3.1 update.

adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock

adb reboot bootloader
Xoom will then reboot into bootloader screen

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot flash system system.img

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

fastboot flash userdata userdata.img

fastboot erase cache

fastboot oem lock

fastboot reboot

It is stuck on Starting RSD mode 2.
I can not get it to fastboot protocol...device does not turn off.
Any solutions?

connect to pc again and run

fastboot oem unlock

and see if it responds

Are you receiving "<waiting for device>" when using fastboot commands?

If so you need to consider the following options:
a) Updating the Motorola USB Drivers for your PC here:
USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA
b) Test all available USB ports on your PC

If you still cannot issue a fastboot command, your Xoom is likely bricked and needs Motorola repair.

Hi there, I am hoping someone can assist me.

I have a Xoom from work and was attempting to root the device and had seemed to have bricked the device, but thought there was hope to be able to restore to factory settings via this thread soft brick, accidently fastboot flashed the 3g boot img

After completing the last step and the device rebooted, I ended up with the error Failed Image Lnx 0x0002 - Starting RSD Node 2.

I have tried to go through fastboot oem unlock however it is not responding.

Is it bricked? Is there hope? Can it be fixed at all?

Which procedure did you use to root the Xoom? Can you provide a link?

this is the procedure I used

Got to fastboot flash boot rootboot.img in Roting section and no further.

Can you get into fastboot?

Getting into fastboot:
1) Shut down the Xoom by holding Power + Volume Up until the screen turns off
2) Press and hold down the Power + Volume Down button together until the screen takes you to the Motorola Logo screen


If all is well you should see a message that states:
"Starting Fastboot protocol support."

This will tell us if there is something we can do.

Yeah, I can get into fastboot and successfully run commands from my PC. I tried to re-run the commands in order to get back to factory settings, but with no luck. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes. I can do that and it reboots, but back to the same thing.
