    Question re the OTA update

    Hey guys

Okay I am rooted and I received the update notification. Now I know not to install the update but how do I stop the notification? I thought if I had alternate recovery running I would not get them.

I kept getting on mine and had to flash Manta Ray and do a complete wipe and restore without data to get rid of it. I wouldn't hit update but the wife, kids and grandkids might think they were doing me a favor. You can also update to the new Hammerhead too.

Yeah that is what I thought. I was hoping to just keep it rooted running stock but I guess I will have to go check out the roms.

On the CyanMod phone Roms I run they have it fixed so you don't even get the notification, if you're rooted and accept it you're in for a lot of problems.

Well it used to be on the android phones that if you were rooted and had a replacement recovery like cwm installed you would not get the notifications. Just totally threw me off this morning when I got the notification cuz I do have cwm installed just no custom rom.

I think you'll like Tiamat. Close enough to stock to feel like it but with some handy features.

Already helped her but for anyone else, if the update downloads then use Root Explorer to go to /cache and rename the update zip in there to something else. Thus should stop the notification.

Well sorry Droid........ our renaming it did not get rid of the notification that there is an update...... Now I still get the notification but cannot find the file to totally delete it. (cuz I renamed it and I do not know where it went....LOL). So I am stuck probably having to flash a rom.......... urrrrrrrrrr not a happy girl !!!!!

I booted into recovery, wiped my cache, wiped/factory reset(still inside of CWM) flashed Hammerhead and can't tell any difference from stock with the exception of the battery icon. No update nags for me.
